Enkou smirked when Kitsune mock accused him.
"In some ways I wish I was. They seem to be able to get into or out of anything."
He folded the cloth back around the sword breakers and stuffed them back into his pack before rummaging around for something new. His hand landed on a wooden case and he pulled it out. The case was made of cheap wood and was more of a small crate stuffed with straw. Enkou pulled open the top and revealed lots of tiny cloth bags with a stiff string poking out of one end.
"And on with the show. These little bags each contain some rust and a special extra ingredient. Light that string and stick it into a lock you can't get through. Ten seconds later you'll have a molten lock and a door you can just push open. I'm planning to sell'em to the less legal elements of the village, for obvious reasons."
The little bags of thermite were something that Enkou would never need to use. All he need do was blow gently into a lock and it was a puddle of molten metal at his feet.

" I'd be careful who you sell that to. I don't mind thieves stealing from the blasted rich but I don't need anyone trying to break into the food storage hear me." Kitsune warned him a bit. With this a wicked grin spread crossed his face.
" Speaking of which. Can I buy one? I might be able to play my own trick on those damn fox." He laughed. Already thinking up a wicked thing, much like the things he hated most.

Enkou handed Kitsune one of the small parcels and grinned back at him.
"You can have that in exchange for a drink, which I would like before I show you more of my wares."
He resealed the box and placed it back into his sack, searching through for something new. He pulled out an object and set it fully wrapped on the table, waiting for the drink before he revealed it.

" Right, Right." He replied as he hailed up a waitress and ordered them both a drink. The woman skittered off and soon returned with their liquer.
" So, whats in there?" He asked with a raise of his brow.

Enkou picked up his cup and took a gulp of the alcohol, letting it settle into his stomach before setting the cup back down and carefully unwrapping the package so that Kitsune could see it's contents.
"This here is more of a curiosity than anything. Came from way way across the continent, some place called Ifreeka or something."
In the middle of the cloth was a small roughly made wooden doll. It was wrapped in a scrap of dusty black cloth that approximated a cloak and had a long narrow malevolent looking face. The most striking thing though was that a large iron nail had been driven through the centre of the doll's body.
"Apparently this charming little item contains an evil spirit known in Ifreeka to plague villages with misfortune and steal the souls of any child it comes into contact with."
He picked up the macabre doll and shook it gently. Their was an unpleasant slippery rattling noise as it shook and Enkou grimaced.
"Has one of the teeth of every child it apparently killed in that doll. It's them and the nail that keep it from escaping.
He picked up his cup and took another gulp as he waited for Kitsune's reaction.

Kitsune looked to him horrified at this news. Looking to the vile looking doll.
“ Then why the hell bring it here! Are you daft doing such a thing. We have children in this village. “ He reminded the man. Not believing his ears at this surprising news. Fiery eyes looking to his friend.

Enkou looked exasperated at his friend's over reaction. He repackaged the doll and slipped it back into his pack.
"Relax will you. Its a spirit warden. The spirit trapped inside it keeps other evil spirits from entering any dwelling it is hung in. Pretty powerful so I'm told, the guy I got it off told me it'll even keep some of the oni out."
He picked up his cup and drained the last of his drink before looking again at his friend.
"Well thats enough about my collection, what has been happening here since I've been away?"

" Fine." Kit sighed as he closed his fiery eyes for a moment. Takeing a sip of his drink he went over his friends question in his head for a moment.
" The tiger and the wolf clans have been at it worse then ever.... I'm afraid soon this war might be sitting on our own front doorstep is no one steps in to fix this mess." He informed him.
" Seems the wolves food supply is running low... their moveing too close to the neko's who have barely enough to feed there own." He added with a sigh.. The politics and problems of the youkai always seemed to get the humans caught up in them as well.

The weather was chilly as a figure walked down the streets of the village. She appeared to look like any other human with dark brown hair green eyes like fresh spring grass. Melina had been traveling with a neko friend of hers and her adopted dragon brother but had left the little group to see about the village. She had not told them where she was going because she didnt want to be followed and to much youkais around with their power would draw unwanted attention.
Melina had been walking in the village and thought it best for food and drink to be in her system to keep up the illusion of human or her fox features might appear. She checked her obi making sure the money was still there.
She walked into the small shop and took a sit ordering some warm food and drink.

Kit’s eyes wondered over as the female entered the establishment with a curious raise of his brow. It wasn’t everyday you saw a female traveling alone…. A very rare sight in these times.
“ Look over there.” He whispered to her his friend at the stranger.
